Sujet : De Struise - Red Haired Jeanne / Roste Jeanne
Description commerciale :
We developed and brewed "Red haired Jeanne" on request by the city of Nieuwpoort.
Jeanne Panne (17th century) lived in Nieuwpoort and officially carried the name of Jeanne the Deyster. She was burned as a witch in the second half of the seventeenth century.
Her father Jan was a baker and had epilepsy. When her father died she took over the bakery. Jeanne had Nevus marks and was no beauty. She possessed medicine books and was regarded as a witch. During her process she was tortured by pricking needles in her Nevus marks. Further torture lead to her confession that she was sent by the devil. Eventually Jeanne ended up on the fire battery.
Roste Jeanne is a light hazy and orange amber ale with a beautiful slightly beige foam collar. The aroma is elegant and has hints of malts, bread, notes of refreshing flower smelling hops. A round taste of grains, caramel, chestnut, cedar and refined hops. This ale has a gentle after-taste and finishes with shimmering fresh hop bitters.
